Bayaaz is a small notebook that lives beside your browser. It keeps what you choose to keep — on your device, and nowhere else. This page spells that promise out in plain words.

What Bayaaz sees

Only what you show it: the text you select and choose to keep, and the title and address of the page it came from — so every excerpt remembers its source. Bayaaz never reads a page on its own; until you select something, it simply waits.

Where your words live

On your machine, start to finish. Selected text is turned into Markdown and shown in the side panel — a working desk that holds your excerpts while you read. Close the panel, and they are gone; what you mean to keep, export: the Markdown file or card image is saved straight to your disk — an ordinary file, yours for good. Between visits, Bayaaz keeps just two small things in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local): your chosen theme, and a working copy of the last card you sent to export — kept so the export page can still read it if you refresh. Nothing else stays.

What never happens

• Your data is never sent anywhere. There is no server, no account, no login.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party services.
• No remote code, no remote fonts — everything ships inside the extension.
• Nothing is sold or shared. There is no one to sell it to.

When you leave

Everything stays yours to sweep away: clear excerpts in the panel whenever you like, and uninstalling the extension removes everything it ever stored. Nothing lingers.

A word about the words

The excerpts you keep belong to the people who wrote them — copyright stays with the original authors and publishers. Bayaaz is a personal tool, made for your own reading notes; if you share what you clip, it is your responsibility to respect those rights. Bayaaz simply helps you keep the words close.
